"After the storm of April 2011, Ann & I wanted a truly "safe" safe room. We found an affordable one of exceptional quality unmatched by any on the local market. We highly recommend Valley Storm Shelters & Safe Rooms."

"Back in the fall of 2010, I happened upon a 4' x 6' Valley Storm Shelter on display. Out of curiosity, I stepped inside and I was immediately impressed with its rugged, C-channel-reinforced "safe-like" construction and the 3-deadbolt-lock system for the entrance door. I had long been considering a "safe room" at some point in the future, so I stashed a brochure in my back pocket. Little did I know at the time that 6 months later we would decide to build a retirement home and my whim would became a reality - I definitely wanted to incorporate an above-ground shelter into the new construction.
After a fair comparison of structural integrity and FEMA qualification documentation among several other local manufacturers' offerings, there was no question, hands down, as to who would supply my shelter - Valley Storm Shelters! They have the testing and design documentation to validate that their safe rooms will withstand an F-5 tornado.
"New" construction gave me the opportunity to work with my home designer/builder to blend the functionality of the shelter seamlessly "Inside" the house in the floor plan. We decided to place a 5' x 8' unit at the back of the garage, to be walled-in and fully insulated with the entry door to be located behind a standard interior door inside the laundry/mud room - out of sight and mind to the casual observer (or unwanted intruder).
Additionally, I wanted to have the home HVAC system feed fresh air into the unit so I asked Tim, the tech rep for VSS, if they had a venting configuration for this and they currently did not. Subsequently, being an innovative engineer by profession, I submitted a conceptual ducting-interface proposal design to VSS; after their review to insure no compromise to the FEMA venting standards, they agreed to incorporate the interface into my unit. My other customization request was to widen the door to 3' for ADA accessibility and offset it to one side to line up exactly with the interior door.
In 4 short weeks, the custom unit was delivered right on time and securely installed to the foundation slab - in a word, it was "perfect"! We can't be more pleased with the results and we are excited about now having a 100%-save place to hunker down without "fear for our lives" during those endless minutes of severe weather warnings and possible tornado impact that happen all too often in North Alabama."

"Cudos to Tim and Valley Storm Shelters. My father (91) and I purchased a 4x6 building to put next to our condo. Tim helped us find a place that the association board would approve that was also convenient for us to use in an emergency. Tim has enlisted some very knowledgeable and nice people to help with concrete and also installation. We were pleased with everyone involved in the installation of our unit.
Tim has been wonderful to work with and we highly recommend him and the company if you are in need of a storm shelter."

"It was a pleasure doing business with you. The tour you provided me showing how your shelters are constructed gives me confidence that shelters you installed will fully protect my family and me. Any storm shelter represents a significant expense but the value I saw in your products far exceeded anything else I've encountered. The high strength design and precision fabrication coupled with the detailed independent engineering analysis you let me review were key to our decision to buy form Valley Shelters. We were happy to hear that you were able to deliver and install the shelters in my home and my daughter's homes early. Your installation crew was highly professional and thorough; they arrived on time with all the requisite tools and machinery and went right to work.
We're happy we chose your products but would be even happier if we never had cause to put them to the test."

"We bought one of your 4x6 shelters in November 2010 and are enjoying it to the fullest. There has already been enough storms to pay for it. During the 4/27/2011 tornadoes it was such a comfort to know we had a safe room for us and our family. I am retired now and my wife is disabled and it is really nice to have something that will protect us and that we can feel completely safe in during storms. I owned and managed a successful construction company for 30 years and in my opinion this is the best shelter for your money."

"April 27, 2011 was a very frightening day for our family. We all hid in our tiny, interior bathroom to ride out the series of tornadoes in Madison, Alabama. After we witnessed the damage an EF5 Tornado can do to a home, we realized our bathroom would not have saved our lives. We had researched tornado shelters and wanted an above ground shelter. Your company was our answer. Not only is the engineering sound (my husband is a physicist so he can verify it), but the service you provide is amazing. We had hoped to offset some of costs via a credit given out by FEMA, but we didn't want to wait through another tornado season to receive the funding. Your company's excellent service and standards, the delivery of the shelter, and the installation have given our family a peace of mind in the event of another massive storm. So thank you Valley Storm Shelters for your HONESTY, your SERVICE and your BEAUTIFUL WHITE SHELTER."

"I would highly recommend purchasing a storm shelter for Valley Storm Shelters. We purchased a 4x6x6 unit a year ago. We have utilized the unit multiple times during the past year, as well as during the April 27, 2011 tornado. We have the piece of mind knowing that when bad weather is in the forecast, we have a very safe place and convenient place for our family and neighbors. Our unit is installed under our carport and blends in so well, most people do not even notice that it is there.
We are very pleased with the support and customer services provided by Valley Storm Shelters. Our unit was installed when promised and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding."

"Valley Storm Shelters and Safe Rooms have been superb. We are very happy with our storm shelter. The white interior makes it inviting, as opposed to a dark closet. Valley Storm Shelters and Safe Rooms customer service is great. The installation was prompt and professional. The people at VSS respond very quickly and go above and beyond to help."

"During the aftermath of the April 2011 tornadoes, I worked with the Sheriff's Department and patrolled in the area on Ardmore Highway. While cruising the area for looters, I saw a safe room standing in what was once a garage and was told that a lady and her pet had rode out the tornado in the safe room without injury. This peaked my interest because the property where my home is located has a high water table and is not conducive to an underground shelter. After considerable research I decided against a storm room without a floor because one person wrote that high winds tore the floor right out from under his storm room and his family fell through the crawl space. As an old Army fraud buster, I decided to see for myself what the local market had to offer. I was most impressed by the professionalism and expertise of personnel manufacturing safe rooms at Valley Storm Shelters in Hollywood, AL. It was readily apparent from the moment I walked into the factory that Valley Storm Shelters had the best designed and strongest shelter available for the money. They even sent out a repairman at no charge to fix a problem with the telephone connection between the shelter and my home land-line. It turned out to be a problem with my house wiring and not the shelter. After working with Tim at Valley Storm Shelters, I feel confident in highly recommending them because not only do they manufacture a superior safe room ... they follow-up after the sale to ensure the customer is completely satisfied. The safe-room is available for inspection by appointment."

"We had purchased an in ground Fiberglass Storm shelter and was really displeased with it. After extensive searching on the net about a variety and different makes we decided on Valley Storm Shelters. The way this is constructed and the workmanship is first class. My mother is 90 years old and lives by herself. I feel safe with her being in it if the need is there. The heavy door is easy to open and close. She goes in and out of it like a closet door. If your serious about protection for your family I would give this a close look. I am not connected with Valley Storm Shelters and only met Tim when he came to our house to show us the variety they carry. Good quality products these days are hard to find, but this is one of them."
