This is the Inside of the Door with Dead Bold Lock and 1" Stainless Steel Handle

The following is a list of STANDARD FEATURES of 4' wide x 6' long x 6' 3½" high above ground steel
storm shelter manufactured and sold by Valley Storm Shelters.

STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY
The shelter consists of 168 sq ft of ¼” steel plate, 100’ of 4” structural C channel, 9’ of 3” structural C channel, 64’ of 3”x3” structural steel angle. As a result, Valley Storm Shelters exceeds FEMA’s 320 specifications and makes this shelter the safest, strongest, and heaviest shelter available. This shelter weighs over 2,500lbs significantly heavier than other manufacturers’ weights of 1,100-1,600lbs. Valley Storm Shelters are purposely overbuilt to protect you and your family.

FLOOR
Full steel floor ¼” plate (carpeted), adds to the structural integrity. It is also a critical feature to prevent electrocution. If lightening strikes the shelter or a power line falls on the shelter you are safe because the metal floor becomes the ground. Other manufacturers' shelters have an open floor to cut labor and material costs. This puts you at risk for becoming the ground. This could result in death.

DOOR
¼” Steel plate, full framed, with two vertical 4" C channels, five horizontal 3" C channels and deadbolt lock. Door opens inward eliminating entrapment from outside debris. We have the strongest standard locking system on the market. Vault type 1" diameter solid stainless steel locking pins (3) traveling in bronze bushings that are encased in steel. Three heavy duty barrel hinges with grease fittings. These features make our door the heaviest and the strongest standard door available.

VENTILATION
Three large vents, covered with ¼” steel debris protectors. Two are located at the upper end of the shelter across from the door. The third vent is located on the lower portion of the door. These vent locations create a natural air flow.

FINISH AND CORROSION PROTECTION
One coat primer, two coats of high quality industrial marine enamel (white). Custom colors available at an additional charge.

ANCHORING
Fifteen 5/8" x 5" hardened carbon steel, concrete cutting anchors with zinc plating. Each with a tension strength of 8,000 pounds and a sheer strength of 9,000 pounds. The anchors are inserted through shelter floor into concrete surpassing FEMA's 320 guidance for anchoring steel shelters.
